The town of Stord is Sunnhordland´s communication hub. Express boats and busses call on Leirvik, Stord, and go to and from adjacent municipalities and Bergen. The express busses go to Stavanger as well.
New tunnels - also under fjords as well as a number of bridges makes it easy to travel in the region. Ferries ply the fjords and the many express boats provide fast and comfortable transport. There is also a well developed local bus service in the district.
